As Liberty football opens spring practice today, the spring football roster has been released with the additions of several mid-year enrollees and the departure of many from the 2020 rosters.

Incoming freshmen OL Andrew Adair, WR Kylen Austin, S Tim Coutras, QB Nate Hampton, LB Kaci Seegars, and LB Ahmad Walker have all joined the program for the spring semester. Also joining are mid-year transfers RB TJ Green, LB Rashaad Harding, S Jaylon Jimmerson, CB Duron Lowe, WR Stetson Moore, S Robert “Rocket” Rahimi, and S Skyler Thomas have all joined, as well. CB Daijahn Anthony, who we expected to join the team, has also been added to the roster.

Moore being listed at wide receiver is noteworthy as he was originally recruited as a tight end. He could play at either position depending on where the Flames’ most need him when the 2021 season begins. Only one other position change of note as reserve linebacker Tyron Staples has moved to running back.

As expected, the departures include TE Chris Barrett, LB Antony Butler, CB Emanuel Dabney, QB Chris Ferguson, S Tim Kidd-Glass, OL Maisen Knight, DL Austin Lewis, RB Peytton Pickett, LB Matt Terrell, and DL Mason Wolk.

Other departures that have not been previously reported include reserve CB Kimani Donaldson and reserve tight ends JT Wood and Mason Yost. Also, as previously reported, WR CJ Yarbrough is not on the spring roster as he has decided to opt out of spring practice.

The Flames are scheduled to hold practices every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday through the month of March. A scrimmage is to be played on Saturday, March 27th. It is currently scheduled to be closed to the public, but that could change depending on government limitations on crowd gatherings as the month progresses.
