For the 2nd straight season, Jeremy Peters has been selected as a team captain. He’s seen playing time in 30 games throughout his career, as the Green Cove Springs, Florida native has cemented himself as one of the best defensive players on the team. His leadership in the secondary has led cornerback coach Marshall Roberts to rave about his group’s potential this season, comparing them to the group he had several years ago led by Walt Aikens and Kevin Fogg. Peters, who was named to the 2nd team all-Big South following 2017, had the best game of his career at Gardner-Webb last year finishing with 3 interceptions. He also has two pick-6’s during his career.
