If you would have asked me a year ago to do a ranking of the top 30 Liberty football players, Sargeant’s name wouldn’t have even crossed my mind. He entered the program as a walk-on at the start of the 2016 season that he redshirted. During training camp last August, offensive line coach Aaron Stamn couldn’t stop referencing Sargeant and the growth he had made. He became a steadying force on an offensive line unit that had struggled mightily in 2016. Sargeant started all 11 games in 2017 at center, and he is firmly entrenched there again entering his redshirt-sophomore season.
