Liberty has released its complete 2025-26 men’s basketball schedule.

The Flames will spend the first couple of weeks of the season at home, opening the new year on November 3 at Liberty Arena against Kentucky Christian. On Nov.7 and Nov. 9, the Flames will host College of Charleston and FAU at Liberty Arena for a round-robin Field of 68 Media Network Tip-Off Event. Over the past two seasons, Liberty has competed in this event first in Boca Raton, Florida two years ago and last year in Charleston, South Carolina. The Flames will conclude the season opening homestand on Nov. 17 against Carolina University.

Liberty will then head to Orlando to face Vermont in their first game of the 2025 Terry’s Chocolate ESPN Events Invitational on Monday of Thanksgiving week. The Flames and Catamounts will square off in a quarterfinal matchup of this event on Nov. 24 at 1:30 p.m. at Walt Disney World Resort’s State Farm Field House at ESPN Wide World of Sports in Kissimmee, Florida, and will be broadcast on ESPNU. The winner of that matchup will face the winner of Rhode Island and Towson on Tuesday, Nov. 25 at Noon on ESPN2 while the two losers will meet at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday on ESPNU. The other side of the bracket features Temple vs UC San Diego and Princeton vs Bradley. Liberty will play one of those four teams on the third and final day of the event on Wednesday, Nov. 26. The championship game is scheduled for Noon on ESPN2.

The Flames will then return home to face Coppin State on Dec. 6. The Eagles were 6-24 last season and 4-10 in the MEAC.

Liberty will play at NC State on Dec. 10. New Wolfpack head coach Will Wade and McKay are familiar with each other, having played a few times previously. Just last season, Liberty defeated Wade’s McNeese team to win the 2024 U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam. Both Liberty and McNeese would advance to the NCAA Tournament this past March with Wade and the Cowboys upsetting 5-seed Clemson in the first round before Wade formally accepted the NC State position.

Liberty will host Midway on Dec. 16. The Eagles are an NAIA program from Midway, Kentucky. Midway is also scheduled to face NCAA Division I programs Morehead State and Bellarmine this coming season.

As we first reported, the Flames are scheduled to play at Dayton, the first game of a home and home series, in Ohio on Saturday, Dec. 20. Dayton is led by head coach Anthony Grant who is entering his 9th season leading the program. The Flyers posted a 23-11 record last season and 12-6 mark in the A10 before advancing to the NIT. Grant is 172-82 during his time at Dayton with four NIT appearances and a trip to the Big Dance in 2024 where they advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament following a win over Nevada. The game in Dayton will conclude the Flames’ non-conference portion of its regular season schedule on Dec. 20.

Conference USA released its 2025-26 men’s basketball conference schedule earlier. With the league expanding to 12 schools this year with the additions of Delaware and Missouri State, the conference schedule is expanding to 20 games from 18 played last year and 16 played two years ago. Everyone will face each league opponent once with while playing nine of the league members twice.

Liberty is coming off a 28-7 season where the Flames were 13-5 in Conference USA, sweeping the regular season and conference tournament titles before advancing to the NCAA Tournament. Liberty lost in the first round of the Big Dance as a 12-seed to 5-seed Oregon. The Flames are set to return several key pieces from last year’s squad including Colin Porter, Kaden Metheny, and Zach Cleveland as they look to repeat as CUSA champs and get back to March Madness.
