Liberty offensive lineman Hunter Steward was drafted #6 overall in the 2013 CFL Draft today. He was picked by the BC Lions. Liberty states Steward will complete his final year of eligibility in 2013, and join the BC Lions after the season.

2012 was Steward’s first season as an offensive lineman and he did not allow a sack. In 2011, he played in 9 games as a reserve defensive lineman making six tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss. He is originally from Canada before he transferred to Kellam High School in Virginia Beach.

Steward transferred to Liberty from Virginia after 2 seasons with the Cavaliers.
