Former Liberty forward Scottie James had a productive outing Saturday night in The Basketball Tournament, although his War Tampa team fell, 76-53, to House of ‘Paign.

Coming off the bench, Scottie James finished with 7 points and 5 rebounds in just 12 minutes of play. He was 1-of-2 from the floor, both three-point attempts, while making all 4 of his free thows. James tied for the 3rd most points on his team while attempting the fewest shots and playing the 2nd fewest minutes.

James scored the first points for War Tampa by someone other than Bryce Brown, who finished with 8 points, all coming in the first quarter. Former Presbyterian and Auburn forward Desean Murray led War Tampa with 13 points.

Since TBT is a single elimination, tournament James and War Tampa’s stay in the tournament is over.
