Liberty men’s basketball’s games against North Florida on Feb. 5 and Feb. 6 have been postponed due to COVID issues within the UNF program. No dates for the games being rescheduled have been announced at this time.

This is the second ASUN series’ to be postponed for the Flames so far this season due to COVID. Liberty was also scheduled to host Florida Gulf Coast on Jan. 9 and Jan. 10 before those games were postponed because of COVID issues at FGCU. Those two games have not been rescheduled at this time.

The Flames will not face an ASUN team this weekend. The only other program that does not have scheduled games is Kennesaw State. Liberty and the Owls already played earlier this season. Liberty’s next scheduled games are at North Alabama on Feb. 12 and Feb. 13.

Liberty is currently 14-5 overall and 6-2 in conference play following the team’s sweep at Jacksonville this past weekend. The Flames are tied for first place alongside Bellarmine and North Alabama. Counting this weekend, there are four weekends remaining prior to the start of the ASUN Tournament. Following the games at UNA next week, Liberty is currently scheduled to host Bellarmine on Feb. 26 and Feb. 27. The Flames have an opening on the weekend of Feb. 20 and Feb. 21. The ASUN Tournament is scheduled to be played March 3-7 in Jacksonville.

The ASUN, in a release announcing the postponement of these games, stated, “the conference office is evaluating schedule options for the final three weeks of the regular season.”
