Liberty basketball is set to host two Class of 2023 prospects in the coming weeks as George Washington, III and Colin Porter are scheduled to make visits to campus.

Washington is a 6’2″ guard from Louisville, Kentucky where he attends Christian Academy. He is rated as a 4-star prospect by some outlets, including ESPN where he is ranked as the No. 24 prospect nationally in the Class of 2023. His offer list includes Louisville, Ohio State, Arkansas, Cincinnati, Western Kentucky, and Auburn. Liberty has yet to offer, but that is likely to change when he visits campus which is currently scheduled for the weekend of Oct. 8. Washington has also visited Cincinnati (9/4) and has visits scheduled with Tennessee (9/11), Louisville (9/18), Ohio State (9/25), and Memphis (10/16).

Porter is scheduled for an official visit to Liberty on Sept. 17. He also has an official scheduled to Western Kentucky on Sept. 24. Liberty offered the 2023 point guard following his first visit to campus, an unofficial on June 30. He is a 5’10”, 160 pound guard from Ashland, Kentucky where he attends Paul G. Blazer High School. The offer was Porter’s sixth Division I offer, as he also has received offers from Marshall, Akron, Morehead State, Lipscomb, and Radford. He also picked up an offer from WKU and Western Carolina following the Flames’ offer. This past season as a sophomore, Porter averaged 16.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, 6.9 assists, and 2.0 steals per game. He has started for his varsity team as a freshman and a sophomore. Porter helped lead his AAU 17U team to the Adidas 3SSB Championship game this summer.

The Flames currently have a commitment from Class of 2022 prospect Zach Cleveland, a 6’7″ forward from Normal, Illinois.
