On Saturday, Liberty picked up a commitment from Sean Brown, a quarterback from Apex, North Carolina.

The 6’1″, 177 pound pro-style quarterback also had offers from Bucknell, Campbell, and VMI, and he becomes the first quarterback to commit to the Flames under head coach Hugh Freeze.

As a junior, Brown was 137-of-232 for 2,004 yards, 16 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions as he led Middle Creek High School to an 8-5 record.

Brown becomes the 9th member of the 2020 class, joining wide receivers Michael James, Jr. and Ashton Maples as the first members of the class on the offensive side of the ball.

Brown will fit into a quarterback battle with current true freshman Johnathan Bennett (and others) to replace 4-year starter Buckshot Calvert in 2020.
