An uncharacteristic down week for Liberty baseball saw the team take two of three from North Carolina A&T before falling to Virginia and dropping a road series at Jacksonville.

The Flames took the first two versus North Carolina A&T ahead of a loss in game three. Aggie first baseman James Roire drove in two runs and A&T third baseman Brandon Melendez recorded a game-high 3 hits to pace the Aggies.

Following the loss, Liberty surrendered five runs in the fifth inning at Virginia. The Flames were unable to respond to the barrage and dropped their first ACC game of the year, 6-3.

The Flames rebounded with an extra-inning victory at Jacksonville April 26 to reach 30 wins for the 15th consecutive season. They dropped game two 8-3 and game three 7-4. The Jacksonville series was the first series loss the Flames have suffered since opening weekend at South Carolina.

Jacksonville dropped the Flames to second place in the ASUN, behind 30-14 (12-3) Florida Gulf Coast. Liberty will take on the Eagles in a three-game set in Fort Myers to close out the regular season.

Liberty will travel to Chapel Hill to take on no. 11 North Carolina this evening at 6. The Flames will play a series at Kennesaw State beginning Friday before traveling to Duke next Wednesday.
