Liberty cornerback, Emanuel Dabney has entered the transfer portal as a grad transfer. Dabney transferred to Liberty before the 2019 season from Hinds Community College. Dabney will have one year of eligibility with the option for a second, because the 2020 season doesn’t count towards eligibility due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dabney started 7 of the team’s first 8 games this season. He did not play in Saturday’s game against NC State. He has 14 tackles, one and a half tackles for loss and six passes defended on the 2020 season. His six passes defended is tied for the most amongst players on FBS Independent teams..

This is coming just two days after Liberty had a gut wrenching loss to NC State, 15-14. That loss was the Liberty Flames first of the season, giving them an 8-1 record. Liberty will be facing University of Massachusetts on Nov. 28, as they look to go 9-1.
