As we reported last week, Liberty is adding grad transfer Trevor DeLaite to its 2021 roster. DeLaite is a left-handed pitcher who will be immediately eligible as a grad transfer with one season of eligibility remaining.

Additionally, Liberty is adding two bats to its lineup by way of the transfer market. The Flames have picked up a commitment from Bowling Green’s Jake Wilson and Flagler College’s Aaron Anderson.

Wilson comes to Liberty after spending the past four seasons (including the shortened 2020) at Bowling Green, who recently announced it would discontinue its baseball program. Wilson was named the MAC’s Freshman of the Year and a Freshman All-American by the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper in 2017.

Originally from Ontario, Canada, Wilson has been a starting center fielder at Bowling Green his entire career and was named to the MAC’s All-Defensive Team in 2018 and 2019. He’s a .301 career hitter with the Falcons with 20 doubles and 2 home runs in his career. He will be immediately eligible and have one season of eligibility remaining.

Anderson announced on Instagram he would be joining the Flames from Division II Flagler. He was named Flagler’s Male Athlete of the Year and selected as the baseball team’s MVP following a shortened season where he led the team in batting (.369), hits (31), doubles (9), home runs (2), RBIs (17), slugging percentage (.571), and on-base percentage (.455).

Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, Anderson redshirted his true freshman season in 2017 at Flagler. He then started all 125 games he played as an infielder the next three seasons. As a grad transfer, he is immediately eligible with one season of eligibility remaining.
