Following a loss at then-undefeated Tennessee, Liberty’s baseball team rallied to sweep Maine in a three-game homestand.

Liberty’s bats dominated Maine’s pitching to the tune of 17 runs in 25 innings (game three lasted only 7 innings). The Flames’ pitching held the Black Bears in check, surrendering only three runs in the series.

Through 11 games, the Flames sit at 8-3: 7-1 at home and 1-3 on the road. Liberty’s pitching staff has the second-best ERA in the ASUN at 3.19, while the Flames offense sits near the bottom of the conference with a .238 average.

Will Wagner leads the team in average by a wide margin: batting .447 with five extra-base hits and 8 RBI’s through 11 games. He’s the only Flame hitting above .300: Jon Embry and Jalen Guy are batting .270 and .250, respectively. Embry and Guy are second and third on the team in average.

The Flames will play host to Virginia Tech on Tuesday at 3:30 ahead of a weekend series at South Florida. Game one of the South Florida series is slated for Friday, March 8 at 7:00.
