The 2023 NFL Draft concluded on Saturday and it saw one former Liberty player selected in wide receiver Demario Douglas who was taken in the 6th round by the New England Patriots.

Following the conclusion of the draft, former Liberty defensive end Durrell Johnson came to terms with the Dallas Cowboys, according to the NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

The 6’3″, 230 pound Johnson was not only one of the bass pass rushers in school history he was also one of the best in the country over the past couple of seasons.

This past season, Johnson had his best season yet. He finished with 58 tackles, 9 sacks, one forced fumble and one interception and a jaw-dropping 27.5 tackles for loss. In 2021, he recorded 25 tackles. In 2020, his first year at Liberty after joining the Flames as JUCO transfer, Johnson had 37 tackles, 8.5 sacks, and an interception.
