If you were in charge of scheduling for Liberty football, who would be the first school you would call? Sure, that team has to be receptive to playing the game and all that goes into scheduling. We could also complain about the Flames not having a P4 on their schedule until 2027, but that’s not what this is for. If scheduling was as easy as it is in NCAA26, who would you want on Liberty’s schedule? Only caveat is it has to be somebody Liberty has never played before whether at the FBS or FCS level.
I’ve compiled a list of those games I’d want on the schedule ASAP:
5. Penn State

So much history. So many people that either hate or love the Nittany Lions. Plus, Liberty has a huge alumni base from Pennsylvania.
4. TCU

This seems like the next step in Liberty’s quest to become the top Christian Athletic program in the country. The Flames already took down Baylor back in 2017. TCU, you’re next.
3. Clemson
I’ve been to a few games at Death Valley before. An incredible place to watch a football game. The two schools are within driving distance, and Liberty has already scheduled and played a number of ACC brethren. Let’s go get the top dog now.
2. Tennessee

This would be a blast. The checkered end zone. That sea of orange. Under the lights. It would be even more special if this game happened while Jamey Chadwell is still head coach. He’s a Tennessee boy, after all.
1. Notre Dame

This one should be obvious. It’s the one that Jerry Sr wanted and dreamed of. Can’t wait to be there for that day.

Heck no to #5. Many of us, that I know, went to and graduated from both LU and State and don’t want to split loyalties.
We’ve got JMU at home this year, but we should routinely play our rivals JMU, Coastal, and ODU. Also, Wake Forest and NC State’s fan bases were pretty hostile towards Liberty when we last played them, so I wouldn’t mind a shot at both those schools. Of course the ACC has too much to risk by scheduling us so it won’t happen.
Kennesaw State is another rivalry that’s been brewing over the years.
