The Flames are off to a a rough 1-3 start and need to get back on track with a win tonight against Robert Morris. Here’s what they need to do:

1 – Don’t Play Down to Robert Morris

This is a game the Flames should, and must, win. Yes, they’ve struggled mightily in route to a 1-3 start, but this is still a game the Flames should win. Robert Morris is also 1-3 and one of those losses was to division II Alderson-Broaddus. The Flames just need to stick to playing their game. Don’t overlook them, but come into the game and play like they know they’re the better team.

2 – Find that Spark on Offense

True freshman Buckshot Calvert will get his first chance to start this season, and I like the change made by coach Turner Gill. The offense has been the focal point of the early season struggles, and it needs something, anything to spark it. Hopefully the rest of the offense will respond to the change and finally get going.

3 – Rely on the Defense

The defense has been the strongest part of the team this season, and they should dominate tonight’s game. Robert Morris is only averaging a tick over 8 points per game, so it would be surprising to see the Colonials break double digits tonight. If the offense still isn’t clicking, let the defense will the game.
