Liberty has picked up a commitment from Isaiah Williams, a 6’7″ forward transferring from Akron, as he announced on twitter Thursday night.

Williams is originally from Dayton, Ohio where he played at the Stivers School for the Arts. As a junior in high school, he averaged a double-double 15.5 points and 10 rebounds per game and was selected first-team All-City, named second-team Division III All-State, and third-team Southwest All-District.

Williams red-shirted this past season, his first, at Akron. He chose Akron out of high school over offers from Stony Brook, Wright State, and Miami (OH). Williams fills Liberty’s 13th and final scholarship spot for the 2017-18 season.

Fox45 in Dayton, Ohio reports that Williams will be eligible immediately with 4 years left to play. He reportedly chose Liberty over interest from Canisius, Arkansas Little-Rock, Colorado State, and UAB.
