The trip to the Cure Bowl in 2019 was the most fun I have ever had while travelling to a Liberty sporting event. And I’ve been to a lot of different, exciting trips, but they all fail in comparison to that first bowl trip.

Last year’s Cure Bowl wasn’t quite the same, primarily due to COVID. With most government restrictions lifted, you won’t want to miss out on this year’s trip to Mobile, Alabama for the Lending Tree Bowl as Liberty takes on Eastern Michigan. There’s a week full of bowl activities, including several opportunities to interact with Liberty families, in addition to sight seeing around Mobile which is located right on the Gulf of Mexico. If there’s any way you can swing the trip, do whatever you can to get to South Alabama.

The average temperature in Mobile in December is 65 degrees, that certainly beats the 49 degree average high in Lynchburg. Here are some options for how much it could cost you to get to Mobile from Lynchburg.

TICKETS

Of course, the best place to go to purchase tickets is straight through Liberty, which you can do here. Tickets are $45. If you need to save a few dollars, you can get them as low as $32 currently on Stubhub.

HOTEL

The official fan and alumni hotel is the Hampton Inn & Suites in Mobile’s historic downtown district. Rooms are $125 per night.

TRANSPORTATION

The biggest price tag comes with transportation. Plane tickets aren’t cheap. Round trip from Lynchburg to Mobile are running around $500+. It’s about an 11 hour drive. Long trip, but if you need to save money, even with the current gas prices, driving can save you a bunch.

FOOD

Pack some food, if you need to, to save you some money on the trip.

Depending on your transportation and food choices, you could probably make the trip for two people work for as low as $500. Spending a weekend in Mobile, surrounded by Flames fans as Liberty wins a third straight bowl game = priceless.
