  • This is the first time the Big South has had 12 participating members and 2 divisions competing in the postseason tournament.
  • Liberty is 17-19 in the Big South Tournament all-time.
  • The Flames won the Big South Tournament Championship in 1994 and 2004. 
  • Dale Layer is 0-3 all-time in the Big South Tournament as Liberty has been eliminated the last 3 seasons in the 1st round of the tournament.
  • In the last 8 seasons, Liberty has been eliminated in the 1st round 6 times.
  • The Flames have not reached the finals of the tournament since 2004.
  • John Caleb Sanders has 19 points in 2 tournament games.
  • Liberty and Coastal have not met in the Big South Tournament since the 2004 season when Liberty defeated Coastal 88-73 in the semifinals.
