Spring practice is slated to start on Tuesday, March 19th, and there are a few key positions to keep your eye on.

Will Darrin Peterson emerge at WR?

Wide Receiver
Following the departures of Pat Kelly, Elliott Dutra, and Ryan Ferguson, the wide receiver position will be a key one to keep an eye on this Spring. In a group led by returners Jaquan Glover and Darrin Peterson who will emerge? Will the former Quarterback Gabe Henderson become a solid fixture in the 3-wide sets? Will an “unknown” be brought to light?

2nd-String QB
With Brian Hudson’s decision to transfer to Campbell, Liberty is suddenly very thin at quarterback. The Spring roster only lists Redshirt-Freshman Javan Shashaty and Campbell transfer Cory Benedetto as quarterbacks behind Josh Woodrum.

Offensive Line
The offensive line was clearly a priority to the coaching staff this past recruiting class. The Flames are also looking to replace 3 starting lineman from a season ago. It will be interesting to see what the depth chart will like following the Spring.

Defensive Line
Another area of emphasis the coaching staff had in its most recent recruit class was the defensive line. Following the departures of seniors Demetrius Ward, Bryant Lewellyn, and Greg Schuster, there will be plenty of snaps available. Cory Freeman, Jibrille Fewell, Francis Bah, and Chima Uzowihe are the likely starters, but who will make the 2-deep?
