Former Liberty linebacker Solomon Ajayi was one of four Flames who signed as undrafted free agents with various NFL squads back in April. Ajayi signed with the Cleveland Browns following his short stint with Liberty.

Ajayi, the younger brother of NFL running back Jay Ajayi, played in 25 games for the Flames, while recording 165 tackles, 2 interceptions, 2 fumble recoveries, and a touchdown.

Ahead of the start of training camp, Cleveland.com projects Ajayi to be one of five linebackers to make the 53-man Cleveland Browns’ roster.

“Terry Pluto pointed out the Browns gave Ajayi $60,000 to sign here,” the article states. “So, he’s at least someone they want to get a good look at, even if he ultimately ends up on the practice squad.”

Liberty should have at least one, and maybe more, football players on NFL active rosters in 2020 once again. Antonio Gandy-Golden is all but a lock to make Washington’s roster.  Walt Aikens, who spent the past 6 seasons with the Dolphins, remains a free agent.

Bejour Wilson has been cut by the Cardinals, while Jessie Lemonier (Chargers) and Elijah Benton (Browns) both enter camp hoping to hang around and ultimately make the final roster.
