Tomorrow is National Signing Day! Here’s an update on where the Flames stand with the Class of 2015.

Verbals

WR/RB Denvre Daniels

Daniels is a playmaker from one of the top programs in the state of Texas. He recorded 25 touchdowns during his senior season. He will also get a look in the return game. He also had reported offers from Colorado State and New Mexico State.

WR Damian King

King committed to Liberty over West Virginia, Missouri, Kansas State, and several others. He suffered a broken thumb early in his season which forced him to miss most of the year, but he did return in time for the playoffs.

TE Zac Foutz

Foutz was Liberty’s second commit in the Class of 2015. He has been named the #42 prospect in the state of Virginia and 1st team All-State as a tight end. He also excelled on Cave Springs basketball team where he was averaging 18 points and 10.8 rebounds per game through 8 games this season.

OL Ernst Andersen

Andersen has enrolled at Liberty for the Spring semester and will be able to participate in Spring practice. The 6’6″, 300 pound lineman from Norway chose Liberty over Eastern Illinois.

OL Dontae Duff

Duff committed to Liberty while on his official visit January 25th. He also had offers from Jackson State and Grambling State.

DL William Brown

The 6’3″, 259 pound defensive lineman from Texas committed to Liberty over Arkansas State, Texas State, and Central Arkansas.

DE Juwan Wells

Wells committed to Liberty in November over offers from Old Dominion, South Alabama, and Troy. He attends Dublin High School in Dublin, Georgia.

LB Jaylyn McKinney

McKinney committed to Liberty over reported offers from Mississippi State, FIU, and Iowa State. He helped lead Victory Christian to the 2A Florida State Championship in December.

DB Malik Matthews

Matthews, who will play cornerback at Liberty, committed on January 27th. He also had an offer from Samford where he took an official visit to earlier in January.

DB Jeremy Peters

Peters committed to Liberty over offers from Kent State, Akron, Marshall, and Middle Tennessee State.

S Rion Davis

Davis attends A.C. Flora High School and committed to Liberty over Charleston Southern, Holy Cross, and South Carolina State.

S Cameron Jones

The local product out of LCA was Liberty’s first commitment in the Class of 2015, and has helped in recruiting much of his future teammates which makes up one of Liberty’s best classes in recent memory.

Pending Offers

RB Frankie Hickson

Hickson is the son of a former Liberty running backs coach and current campus pastor. He lives in Lynchburg where he attends Heritage High. He has offers from Liberty, VMI, Navy, Air Force, and Dartmouth. He took his official visit to Liberty during the weekend of January 16th, it was the only official visit he took. He has not yet committed anywhere publicly as he is planning on making his decision public on signing day.

DE Javon Frazier

Liberty jumped in on Frazier late, offering him in January and he took his official visit this past weekend. He also has offers from West Virginia State and Seton Hill.

DB Malik Clements

Clements committed to Cincinnati in February of 2014, but he took an official visit to Liberty during the weekend of January 16th. He visited Cincinnati the following weekend. He’s from Danville, so maybe he wants to stay close to home, but sounds like he may be a pretty strong commit to Cincy. At this point, it would be a surprise if his NLI shows up in Lynchburg.

DB Damon Smith

Liberty offered Smith last Summer, but I’ll be honest, I have no idea if he’s still on their radar. I haven’t been able to track down any information on him, and that leads me to believe Liberty and/or Smith are no longer interested in one another.

DB Elijah McClendon

We don’t have a recruiting profile on McClendon, but he reportedly picked up an offer from Liberty about a week ago. He’s currently at Contra Costa Junior College in California, and is originally out of Gulfport, Florida. He was a 2-star prospect out of high school. You can read more on him on the message board. To my knowledge, he did not take an official visit to Liberty, but this is a name to keep an eye on Wednesday.

Off the board

ATH Michael Holmes

He recently committed to UNC-Charlotte.

DL Dorian Kithcart

He has committed to Mercer.

DB Nate Dalton

He has committed to Arkansas.

DB Khylil James

James was supposed to visit this past weekend, but those plans changed. He picked up a last minute offer from Virginia State.

DB Anthony Johnson

Johnson’s story is similar to James. He was supposed to visit Liberty this past weekend, but those plans changed. He instead was scheduled to visit Sam Houston State.

DB Shelton Lewis

He has committed to Florida Atlantic.

S Denzel Johnson

Johnson has narrowed his list to Clemson, UMass, Towson, and South Carolina State. He took official visits to all four.
