OL Ernst Anderson

Anderson is a 6’7″, 310 pound lineman from Norway. He will participate in spring practice. Anderson chose Liberty over Eastern Illinois.

NLIs Received:

S Rion Davis   

Davis is a 2-star rated prospect according to Rivals, ESPN, and 247Sports. He chose Liberty over offers from Charleston Southern, Holy Cross, and South Carolina State. Davis attends A.C. Flora High School in Columbia, South Carolina. Davis was a three-time all-state honoree while playing both safety and running back in high school. The 6’0″, 185 pound safety also excelled on the basketball court leading A.C. Flora to a state title during his junior season.

LU commit Zac Foutz

Foutz was one of the first commitments in the Class of 2015. The 6’4″ 220 pound tight end committed in October. He has been rated as the #42 rated prospect in the state of Virginia according to Roanoke.com. Foutz was named first team all-state as a tight end following his senior season. He comes to Liberty from Cave Spring High School, the home of Liberty quarterback Josh Woodrum and offensive lineman Dylan Brucki. He finished his senior season with 25 receptions, 345 yards, 2 touchdowns, 93 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, and 5 pass break-ups. We had a chance to interview earlier this week as he discussed his decision to sign with Liberty:

CB Jeremy Peters   

Peters is a 5’10”, 180 pound cornerback from Clay High School in green Cove Springs, Florida. He had several offers including Kent State, Akron, Marshall, and Middle Tennessee State. He took one other official visit, other than Liberty, to Presbyterian in January. He finished his senior season with 74 tackles, 3 interceptions, 3 forced fumbles, and 2 blocked field goals. We had a chance to interview Jeremy earlier this week on what signing with Liberty means to him:

S Cameron Jones

Jones was Liberty’s first commitment in the Class of 2015 when he committed back in July. He comes to Liberty from LCA and will continue his college career at Williams Stadium. He helped lead LCA to state titles in his sophomore and junior seasons. He was named all-state as a defensive back in both his junior and senior seasons. He finished his senior season with 3 interceptions, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. He played both wide receiver and defensive back in high school.

WR Damian King    

King committed to Liberty following his official visit the weekend of January 16th. He is a 3-star rated prospect according to Rivals and ESPN. He has numerous FBS offers including Ball State, Indiana, Kansas State, Missouri, Florida International, South Alabama, South Florida, and West Virginia. He had 2,138 all-purpose yards and 24 touchdowns as a junior. He broke his thumb in his senior season and missed much of the year, but returned in time to lead his team to the state championship game. King was selected first-team all-state as a junior and senior. We had a chance to interview Damian as he discussed why he chose to sign with Liberty:

WR Denvre Daniels    

Daniels is a 3-star prospect according to 247Sports and Scout. He played both wide receiver and running back in high school. He also had offers from New Mexico State and Colorado State. Daniels helped lead Cedar Hill to the 5A Division II state title in Texas as a junior and senior. He was selected to the first-team all-district as a senior finishing with 2,088 all-purpose yards, 24 touchdowns and one kick return for a touchdown.

CB Malik Matthews

matthewsMatthews committed to Liberty over an offer from Samford. He visited Liberty the weekend of January 23rd. He played running back, defensive back, and kick returner in high school. He finished his career with 109 carries for 859 yards and 8 touchdowns, and 58 tackles, 3 interceptions, and an interception return for a touchdown. He also returned two punts and one kickoff for a touchdown while playing for Potter’s House Christian Academy in Jacksonville.

LB Jaylyn McKinney

McKinney committed to Liberty in December. The 6’1″, 215 pound linebacker helped lead Victory Christian to a state championship in Florida. He recorded 79 tackles and rushed for 587 yards and 7 touchdowns. He also had offers from Mississippi State, FIU, and Iowa State.

OL Dontae Duff

Duff committed to Liberty on January 25th while on his official visit. He also had offers from Liberty, Jackson State, and Grambling State. He was named first-team all-district following his senior season. Duff comes to Liberty from Mesquite, Texas where he attended Poteet High School. In his 3 seasons of varsity football, he recorded 114 knockdowns, including 51 as a senior. He was named AP 2nd team all-state as a senior as he helped lead Poteet to a district championship. Duff is 6’1″ and 322 pounds.

DT Will Brown

Brown committed to Liberty while on his visit on January 18th. He also had offers from Arkansas State, Texas State, and Central Arkansas. You can view his junior season highlights here. Brown was a two time first-team all-district selection. He finished his senior season with 63 tackles, 8 tackles for a loss, 3 sacks, and 12 quarterback hurries. Brown is 6’2″ and 275 pounds. He was a two-year letterwinner from Texas High School in Texarkana, Texas. As a junior, he finished with 39 tackles, 4 tackles for a loss, 3 sacks, 11 quarterback hurries, a fumble recovery, and a pass breakup.

 

DE Juwan Wells

Wells committed to Liberty over offers from Old Dominion, South Alabama, and Troy. He took his official visit during the weekend of the Monmouth game. He played tight end, defensive end, and linebacker in high school. He finished his senior season with 140 tackles, 4 sacks, 12 tackles for loss, and was named first-team all-region at linebacker. Wells is 6’2″ and 215 pounds.

RB Frankie Hickson

Hickson chose Liberty over VMI, Navy, Air Force, and Dartmouth. He was named 1st team all-state as a running back following his senior season. His father is a former Liberty running backs coach and a current campus pastor. He finished his career with 4,233 rushing yards and 65 touchdowns. He was named the Lynchburg News & Advance 2013 player of the year following his junior season where he rushed for 1,739 yards. Hickson finished his senior season with 2,169 yards and 37 touchdowns.

DE Javon Frazier

Frazier signed with Liberty over offers from West Virginia State and Seton Hill. He visited Liberty this past weekend. Frazier was named all-conference following both his junior and senior seasons. He was also named all-area, state region, and all-state as a senior as he led his team in tackles for a loss and sacks his final 2 years. He helped Colonial Forge win a state title in basketball as a junior.
