Liberty will compete in the 2023 Myrtle Beach Invitational, according to Rocco Miller.

The eight team tournament is typically held in November each season on the campus of Coastal Carolina in Conway, South Carolina. The Chanticleers, as the tournament host, will also compete in the event. The rest of the field includes the College of Charleston, Furman, Saint Louis, Vermont, Wichita State, and Wyoming.

Three of those teams advanced to the NCAA Tournament this past season, as Charleston, Furman, and Vermont all won their conference tournament in 2023.

The College of Charleston had one of the best seasons for a mid-major this past year with a 31-4 overall record that included time being ranked in the top 25. The Cougars, coached by former Winthrop head coach Pat Kelsey, were a 12-seed in the Big Dance before falling to eventual national runner-up San Diego State in the first round.

Furman also had a very successful season. The Paladins finished the year with a 28-8 overall record and upset Virginia in the first round of the NCAA Tournament before also losing to SDSU, doing so in the second round.

Vermont finished the season 23-11, advancing to a second straight NCAA Tournament. The Catamounts lost to 2-seed Marquette in the first round.

The Flames, who will be moving to Conference USA this coming season, will play in three games as part of the event in South Carolina. Tournament pairings and the full schedule will be released at a later date.
