Here’s a few quick-hit notes following Liberty’s 47-28 rout over Presbyterian:

  • The Flames jumped out to a 33-7 halftime lead thanks to scoring drives on 6 of 7 first half possessions. The only possession Liberty didn’t score on was when where they drove inside the Presbyterian 5 yard line before Carrington Mosley fumbled.
  • This is Liberty’s 9th consecutive win over PC, which is the longest winning streak against a single opponent in program history. Liberty is now 6-0 versus the Blue Hose at Williams Stadium and 9-0 in Big South matchups.
  • With a first half touchdown pass by Stephen Calvert to Cephas Reddick, Buckshot set the Liberty single-season record with 24. Calvert finished the game with 3 touchdowns to push his season mark to 26. Buckshot finished with 311 passing yards on 14-of-26 passing.
  • Reddick led the team with 125 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns.
  • Antonio Gandy-Golden was a late scratch from the game due to an upper body injury.
  • Liberty had a season high in rushing yards, finishing with 317, the first time this season the Flames have gone over 300 rushing yards. Carrington Mosley racked up 149 yards on 27 carries, as he rushed for over 100 yards for the 3rd straight game and 5th time this season. Frankie Hickson had 97 rushing yards while Kentory Matthews added 66.
  • The win clinches Liberty’s 12th consecutive winning season and 25th winning season in program history.
  • Liberty completes their Big South home slate with a 33-8 all-time record in Big South contests at Williams Stadium.
  • The Flames conclude their regular season next Saturday at Charleston Southern in what will be the program’s final Big South Conference football game.
  • The next time we see Liberty at Williams Stadium will be on September 1, 2018 in an expanded stadium against Old Dominion. With the 2017 home schedule now complete, it allows construction on Williams Stadium expansion to begin in earnest. This expansion will include a 2nd deck on the current student side and will increase Williams Stadium capacity from 19,200 to approximately 25,000.
