Like most other positions, Liberty was affected at corner in the transfer portal. The Flames lost Chris Megginson and Daijahan Anthony, but the cupboard isn’t bare. Kobe Singleton returns as a starter while Amarian Williams looks to take the next step. The Flames also brought in three transfers who have been battling for playing time during camp.

Frontrunners

CB 3 Kobe Singleton JR 5’11” 185

Singleton had 6 passes defended and 2 interceptions in his first year on the field last season from Southern Utah. Now, he’s the presumptive leader at the position and will be counted on to provide leadership and also production on the field.

CB 26 Amarian Williams SO 5’10” 175

Williams should see increased playing time this year after having limited opportunities to begin his career. He has the talent to make an impact for the Flames this season.

Competition

CB 8 Joshua Wiggins R-FR 6’0″ 180

Wiggins has transferred into the program from Colorado during the offseason and will look to work his way into the fold at corner this fall.

CB 21 Marquis Bell SO 5’11” 190

Bell is a JUCO transfer who joined the Flames for the spring. He got plenty of reps with the first team then and should be able to fit in on the field this season.

CB 20 Dexter Ricks, Jr. R-FR 5’11” 175

The redshirt-freshman, Ricks made a nice interception during Fan Appreciation Day going against the first team offense in a two-minute drill.

CB 5 Elijah Hopkins R-FR 5’10” 185

Hopkins joins the program from Coastal Carolina where he saw action in four games as a running back. That was due to injury issues the Chanticleers had on offense. Hopkins was recruited by this staff as a corner.
