This week’s ASOR Basketball Player of the Week goes to Darius McGhee.

After winning the ASUN Player of the Week last week, McGhee picked up right where he left off. In games against St. Francis (PA) and Bluefield College, McGhee had a combined 29 points. In those games, McGhee was able to connect on 7 three-pointers, as his hot streak from behind the arc continues. Along with his 7 three pointers, the junior also secured 7 rebounds.

McGhee has had an incredible start to the year. The ASUN Preseason 1st team selection leads the Flames in three different statistical categories. McGhee is the team’s leading scorer averaging 15.4 ppg, he leads the team in steals with 1.2 per game, and leads the team in rebounds with 4.6 a game, despite being the shortest player on Liberty’s roster. McGhee also recently moved up to number 50 on Liberty’s all-time scoring list after the Flames beat St. Francis.

As the Flames prepare for their 5th Power 5 opponent on the year in Missouri, Liberty will need McGhee to continue playing the way that he is. You can watch McGhee and the Flames next Wednesday at 8:15 on the SEC Network.
