Liberty moved to 1-0 after defeating Campbell 48-7 Saturday night. Here’s how Liberty’s opponents did in week 1:

Troy (1-0): Defeated Southern 55-3

Quarterback Taylor Powell threw for two touchdowns and Jamontez Woods rushed for two of his own as Troy’s offense erupted in a 55-3 win over Southern. The Trojans play host to Liberty next weekend.

Old Dominion (0-1): Lost to Wake Forest 42-10

After being trounced by Wake Forest 42-10 on Friday night, the Monarchs will face Hampton this week. They will travel to Williams Stadium on Sept. 18 for their first matchup against the Flames since 2018, when Liberty won 52-10.

Syracuse (1-0): Defeated Ohio 29-9

Ohio’s defense had no answer for Syracuse running back Sean Tucker, who carried the ball 25 times for 181 yards and one touchdown en-route to a 29-9 Orange road victory.

Alabama-Birmingham (1-0): Defeated Jacksonville State 31-0

UAB defeated Jacksonville State 31-0 on Wednesday night. The Blazers face a tall task at Georgia next week.

Middle Tennessee (1-0): Defeated Monmouth 50-15

Middle Tennessee held Monmouth’s offense to 3.4 yards per play in a blowout 50-15 victory. Middle Tennessee quarterback Bailey Hockman completed 17-22 passes for 3 touchdowns in the win.

Louisiana-Monroe (0-1): Lost to Kentucky 45-10.

Kentucky’s talent was too much for visiting Louisiana-Monroe to handle in week 1. Kentucky quarterback Will Levis lit up the Warhawk defense – frequenting receivers Josh Ali (136 yards, 1 touchdown) and Wan’Dale Robinson (125 yards, 2 touchdowns) in a 367-yard, 3-touchdown effort. Wildcat running back Chris Rodriguez also tallied 125 rushing yards and a touchdown on a rebuilding Warhawks defense.

North Texas (1-0): Defeated Northwestern State 44-14

Running back DeAndre Torrey’s 244-yard, 3-touchdown effort paced the Mean Green to an easy week-1 victory. North Texas only punted once in the win.

Massachusetts (0-1): Lost to Pittsburgh 51-7

The rebuilding Minutemen mustered just 209 total yards in a road matchup against the Panthers in week 1. UMass’s defense also surrendered 597 yards in the loss.

#23 Louisiana (0-1): Lost to Texas 38-13

The visiting Ragin’ Cajuns only trailed by 8 at halftime, but couldn’t match Texas’s strong 2nd-half performance. Louisiana looks to rebound from a tough week 1 against FCS Nicholls State in week 2.

Army (1-0): Defeated Georgia State 43-10

Two of Army’s 3 passes were touchdowns as the Black Knights trounced Georgia State in Atlanta Saturday afternoon.
