With the 2017-18 roster completed and 14 scholarship commitments for 2018-19, Coach McKay and the men’s basketball staff has turned their attention to the 2019 and beyond classes. Over the past week, the Flames have offered 2019 prospect J.C. Tharrington.

Tharrington is a 6’0″ point guard who attends Charlotte Christian High School in Charlotte, North Carolina. He also has offers from Appalachian State and Campbell. He’s a 2019 prospect, and this past season, as a sophomore, he averaged 8.0 points and 7.4 assists per game for the Knights. He’s also the high school teammate of Liberty commit Blake Preston. One scouting service had this to say about Tharrington’s game: “JC has a great feel for the game. He really shoots it well and sees the court. He gets his teammates the ball in position to score. In addition, Tharrington is the type of player others enjoy playing with. More importantly, he knows how to run a team and is the consummate PG. He’s a low risk, high return player that will make winning plays.”
