The eyes of the entire NFL world was on Liberty University and Malik Willis on Tuesday for Liberty Pro Day and the possible QB1 of next month’s NFL Draft put on a show.

Carolina Panthers head coach Matt Rhule and Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin were part of approximately 70 NFL personnel on hand in Lynchburg, Virginia for the day. General managers from the Washington Commanders, Carolina Panthers, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Atlanta Falcons were also at Liberty. At least 30 of 32 NFL teams were represented at Liberty’s Pro Day on Tuesday.

Willis went to dinner with the Pittsburgh Steelers and their top brass on Monday night. He also met with the Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals on Tuesday morning, sources told ASOR.

ESPN’s Todd McShay and Samantha Ponder, who is a Liberty alum, as well as Ian Rapoport from the NFL Network were part of approximately 100 credentialed media members in attendance. The NFL Network aired Willis’ passing workout live, and by the end of the day Malik Willis was one of the top trending topics on Twitter.

Willis was measured at 6’0″ and 225 pounds, but he did not participate in the other testing drills in the morning. Willis was on hand to cheer on his 16 Liberty teammates, as well as former Liberty running back Frankie Hickson, Virginia Tech wide receiver Tre Turner, and Richmond wide receiver Jonathan Johnson.

The day began in the morning in the weight room at the Liberty Football Center. After getting measured, most of the players in attendance went through various workouts and drills in the weight room. While Willis did not participate in these drills, he was on the front row cheering his teammates on. The same happened as the day progressed and the workouts moved to Liberty’s Indoor Practice Facility for additional drills.

“I’m fast,” Malik Willis said of not running the 40-yard dash at the Combine or Pro Day. “If I ran the 40, it would have been nice, but it was no point. It would have just proved that I’m fast. If you already think I’m fast and I run fast, then I didn’t really do anything.”

After a short break, Willis threw about 70 scripted passes to the pass catchers also working out. This portion of his workout was televised live on NFL Network.

“I try to always go out there and have fun,” Willis said of his performance at Liberty’s Pro Day. “At the end of the day, we’re blessed to be doing what we’re doing. It’s a children’s game and we’re trying to get paid doing it. I feel like that’s cool in itself. These are the guys I’ve been doing it with for the past three years with the addition of Tre Turner and JJ and Frankie coming back, I never got to play with Frankie. It’s exciting. We get to go out there and have all these eyes on us, and we get to do what we work hard at every day to do.”
