HIT IT Joc!

We’re approaching the finale of the first round of this year’s Liberty Twitter Bracket Challenge and what a start it was! It seems like I can’t go five minutes without another notification. If we’re being honest, I’m having difficulty keeping track of who is winning, losing, cheating, and causing chaos on Twitter. But that’s why I decided to break down what I and a few others think have been some of the best storylines thus far. Buckle up, everyone!

The Rise and Fall of Austin Marsh

Poor Austin. I’ve been a fan of his for a while now. He seems like a stand-up guy who likes Liberty sports and doing some gambling. I was thrilled when I saw he made it into the #LTBC however my excitement quickly turned to sorrow when I realized he was up against the new First Lady of Liberty Football, Mrs. Chadwell. The only hope he had at this point was that she never tweeted. Well sure enough she tweeted and it was over. He tried raffling off some old-school Liberty gear but it was too little too late. He ran into a monster of a nine seed.

We also got this gem from JVP

Kinda cool that he drove a Saab tbh.

ANYWAY

I don’t think we’ve seen the last of Austin. He’s Liberty’s Rudy without the offsides and happy endings. Excited to see him mixing it up with everyone going forward.

RtB Video

Videos have become a big part of LTBC. I enjoy a good video though while some are great, some can be super cringy. My favorite part is getting to see who everyone gets to start in their videos. In an effort to earn votes, people can make videos highlighting themselves, big football plays, former players, current players, and even professors. But no one has been killing the video game quite like Mr. RtB. After a classic Ric Flair 80’s promo, he followed it up with this.

When I first looked at the tweet I thought it was gonna be HCJC. BAM. Bait and switch. Made me legit LOL. Fun content that doesn’t involve much. Just having a good time with the fam. Surely got my vote going forward.

Basketball Game Sign Breakdown

With basketball being the main sport going on right now all eyes were on the LA to see what the LTBC competitors were going to do to stand out among the crowd. Sure enough, sign city!

When I was on winter break my freshman year I was making bad decisions and Jenna is out here making an awesome sign. Look at this thing! I would have thrown up a QR code and hoped someone had the wherewithal to scan it. Can’t knock the hustle.

Then we got the Boyce family! Gotta love the tag team combo on the sign and the free advertisement. There is NO CHANCE my wife would have posed with a sign. She probably would have rooted for the other person just to laugh at me when I lose.

Love how the LTBC is spilling over into live sports!

The Ballad of Caleb Wynn and “Emmi”

It started off as a simple endorsement video from two people I’d never heard of. See the tweet below.

A mere three seconds into the video (should have just uploaded the video instead of screen recording it, don’t get lazy Caleb) a Snapchat notification from an unknown girl named “Emmi” appeared on the screen. (Free tip Caleb, don’t have notifications for Snapchat in banner mode. Just not a good idea). Twitter instantly asked who it was and Rizz jokes floored the timeline.

Turns out, it was a girl he met on a Bumble! In my day, you had to be an education major or perform in a coffeehouse to get girls!

What a turn of events. Everyone is waiting with bated breath to see how it turns out. Go Emmi and Caleb.

Public vs. Private vs. Homeschool

A debate was sparked pretty quickly in the midst of the chaos. What’s better, public, private, or home-schooled? One answer is the obvious wrong one and it’s the choice that doesn’t start with a P. Regardless of your belief, you have to acknowledge the fact my public education (shocker of the year, I went to public school) taught me one thing. Never post a picture of yourself holding a sign on the internet. Something Mr. Point didn’t learn as seen in the tweet below.

I started photoshopping that picture quicker than a Darius McGhee three-pointer and the memes came rolling in.

A free endorsement!

The sign doesn’t lie!

I’m extremely confident this meme isn’t going anywhere. If you want a blank copy of it hit me on on the bird and we’ll make it happen. Keep tweetin’ and keep votin’!
