The Flames are absolutely on fire right now in the transfer portal, securing a sixth commitment over the past days. Liberty has added Louisiana transfer safety Brandon Bishop.

Bishop began his career at Alabama where he redshirted as a walk-on during the 2018 season. He then transferred to Louisiana where he has totaled 63 tackles and 3 interceptions over the past several seasons. Bishop has one year of eligibility remaining. The 6’0″, 194 pound defensive back is originally from Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Bishop appeared in 11 games as a redshirt-freshman in 2019, primarily on special teams. He would miss the 2020 season due to injury. In 2021, Bishop had 30 tackles, a tackle for loss and an interception. This past year, playing in 12 games, Bishop recorded 25 tackles and an interception.

Bishop commits to Liberty following a weekend visit to Lynchburg. He also had offers from Troy, Kansas State, Arkansas State, Old Dominion, and James Madison.

He is the sixth commitment for Liberty and new head coach Jamey Chadwell out of the portal over the past two days. He joins fellow  Louisiana transfer wide receiver Errol Rogers, West Virginia transfers wide receiver Reese Smith and offensive lineman Jordan White, Southern Miss transfer quarterback Trey Lowe and South Carolina transfer safety RJ Roderick.
