Liberty and head coach Carey Green have announced the women’s basketball non-conference schedule for the upcoming 2025-26 season. It is highlighted by the Lady Flames playing host to Duke at Liberty Arena for a second straight season with East Carolina and Richmond also set to visit Lynchburg.

Coming off a CUSA regular season and tournament title as well as a trip to the NCAA Tournament, Liberty has an attractive non-conference schedule highlighted by these home contests at Liberty Arena. The Blue Devils and Spiders, both of whom won NCAA Tournament games in March, are two of four non-conference foes who racked up 27 or more victories in 2024-25. That list also includes George Mason and James, whom the Lady Flames will face on the road.

Duke will play in Lynchburg on Nov. 16, the third home game for Liberty within the season’s first 13 days. The Lady Flames open the season at home against Frostburg State on Nov. 4 before hosting East Carolina on Nov. 7. Liberty lost to the Blue Devils, 83-67, last year, a contest which boasted a Liberty Arena women’s basketball record 2,845 fans. Duke went on to have a successful season, finishing the year at 29-8 with a trip to the NCAA Elite Eight.

Liberty’s non-conference slate also features three contests against in-state foes. The Lady Flames will host Richmond on Dec. 13 while making the trek to Harrisonburg to take on James Madison on Nov. 12 and Fairfax to tangle with George Mason on Dec. 7. Richmond (28-7) and George Mason (27-6) both played in the NCAA Tournament last season, while James Madison (30-6) took part in the WBIT.

The Lady Flames will also compete in a pair of regular-season tournaments, the Navy Classic (Nov. 29-30 in Annapolis, Maryland) and the Maui Classic (Dec. 19-20 in Makawao, Hawaii). Liberty’s matchups for both tournaments will be announced at a later date.
