Liberty is in pursuit of Josh Reed, a 2022 prospect who has been rated as a top 100 national prospect and given a 4-star rating by Rivals. Rivals also rates him as the 25th best small forward prospect in the class.

Reed is a 6’7″, 210 pound forward from Atlanta, Georgia where he attends Pace Academy. The current junior had a breakout sophomore season where he helped Pace to a state title. He then excelled over the summer playing for AC Georgia. He has racked up offers including Liberty, Mercer, Winthrop, High Point, Kennesaw State, FGCU, Tulane, Xavier, and Boston College. Reed has also picked up offers recently from Princeton and Georgia.

Reed plays alongside a top 25 national recruit in 5-star forward Matthew Cleveland. The 6’7″, 190 pound senior has signed with Florida State, choosing the Seminoles over about 30 other offers. Liberty offered Reed in October as his recruitment began to heat up. So far this season, Reed is averaging 16.8 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game while shooting 55% from the field and 39% from three point range.

Ritchie McKay and the Flames have already received one pledge from the class of 2022, as point guard DJ Moore committed to the program.
