Liberty has made the top nine for talented athlete Quanye Veney, he announced on Sunday. The Flames are included alongside East Carolina, Maryland, Pitt, Charlotte, Wake Forest, Buffalo, Richmond, and Howard.

Veney is a three-star rated prospect according to both 247Sports and Rivals. The 5’9″, 160 pound athlete is being recruited as a wide receiver or corner back. He is from Highland Springs, Virginia where he attends Highland Springs High School. Other offers he had that did not make his top nine include Boston College, NC State, North Carolina, and Old Dominion.

He has already taken visits this month to Virginia Tech, Clemson, Charlotte, and Duke. He is still scheduled to go to Appalachian State, James Madison, Pitt, and Penn State. He helped Highland Springs reach Virginia’s Class 5 state championship game this past spring where he had seven catches for 50 yards in the title game loss. Veney ranks as the No. 21 player in Virginia’s class of 2022.
