Liberty wide receiver Jaivian Lofton has been ruled out for today’s contest against Southern Miss. Wide receivers CJ Yarbrough and Noah Frith and safety Tim Kidd-Glass will be game-time decisions as they are expected to go through warmups and see if they can play.

Liberty running back Joshua Mack is expected to play but is not at full strength. He is not expected to start in today’s game as he fights back from an infection in his elbow which caused him to miss the game Syracuse last week.

Mack leads the Flames’ running backs this season with 359 yards on 59 rushing attempts and one touchdown. Look for a heavy dose of Peytton Pickett and Shedro Louis early in the game. Pickett and Louis each surpassed the 100 yard rushing mark in last week’s win over the Orange.

Lofton had a partial tear in his PCL and Liberty head coach Hugh Freeze said earlier this week that he hopes for Lofton to be back following the team’s bye week. Frith is fighting back from a hamstring injury suffered late in the game against FIU while Yarbrough has been hampered by several injuries dating back to this summer.
