Liberty football has added another piece to its future offensive line, landing a commitment from Class of 2027 offensive tackle Judson Carithers of St. Christopher’s School in Richmond, Virginia.
Carithers is listed at 6-foot-6 and 280 pounds, giving the Flames a promising frame to develop along the offensive front. He is a member of St. Christopher’s 2026 varsity football team and is listed as an offensive tackle in recruiting databases.
Carithers took a visit to Liberty last month during the weekend of the Ball State game. Liberty offered him a preferred walk-on spot in June.
The addition continues Liberty’s efforts to build depth and size up front as the program works to strengthen its roster for the coming seasons. Carithers will have the opportunity to continue his development at the collegiate level in Lynchburg, where he will join a Liberty program looking to remain competitive in Conference USA under head coach Jamey Chadwell. For the Flames, adding offensive line prospects is an important part of building a sustainable offense. Developing young linemen can provide future depth, create competition at multiple positions and help establish the physical foundation needed to run the football effectively.
Carithers attends St. Christopher’s School, an all-boys college-preparatory school in Richmond. The Saints compete in Virginia high school football and are coached by Lance Clelland. With his size and position, Carithers gives Liberty another offensive line prospect to develop as the program continues assembling its Class of 2027 recruiting group.
He is the 16th commitment for Liberty in the Class of 2027. He is also the 4th commitment in the class at offensive line joining Israel Harris, Trenton Harris, and Devon Munnings.
