Liberty forward Micaiah Abii and guard Jonathan Jackson have entered the transfer portal as first reported by Verbal Commits.

Abii is a 6’7″ forward who played in 49 games over the past two seasons with Liberty. Originally from Liberty High School in Frisco, Texas, Abii exploded onto the scene in the first game of his collegiate career, scoring 19 points while making all 7 of his field goals against Purdue. He would go on to score 29 points in his first two games of the season as a true freshman in 2020-21, the most by a Liberty freshman since Seth Curry in 2008. From there, he had a difficult time becoming a main stay in the rotation during his first season in the program.

This past season, Abii played in 25 games, averaging 9.3 minutes, 3.0 points, and 1.8 rebounds per game. He shot 47.2% from the field and made 7 of his 16 three-point field goals for 43.8%.

Jackson is a 6’4″ guard originally from Dallas, Texas where he attended Blue Valley High School. The younger brother of current NBA player Justin Jackson, Jonathan played in 16 games as a freshman in 2020-21, averaging 3.1 points, 0.8 rebounds, and 0.3 assists per game. This past season, he played in 21 games, averaging 3.5 minutes, 1.2 points, and 0.3 rebounds per game while shooting 30.0% from the field and making 8 of his 27 three-point attempts for 29.6%.

With their transfers, Liberty now has two scholarships available for the 2022-23 season.
