Following Liberty’s 49-7 win over Louisiana-Monroe to move to 4-0 on the season, the Flames have received votes in the USA Today Coaches Top 25 Poll for the second straight week.

Liberty received eight votes, effectively ranking 45th, and up from last week’s one vote and 56th ranking. The Flames are 4-0 with wins over Western Kentucky, Florida International, North Alabama, and Louisiana-Monroe.

Liberty heads on the road this week to face Syracuse this coming Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for noon on ACC Regional Networks.

Clemson remains #1 in the poll, followed by Alabama, Georgia, Notre Dame, and North Carolina to round out the top 5.

Virginia Tech is ranked No. 23 following their loss to North Carolina on Saturday. The Flames are scheduled to face the Hokies on Nov. 7.

Coastal Carolina was also in the other receiving votes category with Liberty, receiving 48 votes. The Flames and Chanticleers are scheduled to square off on Dec. 5 in Conway, South Carolina.

Liberty also received 8 votes in the AP Top 25 poll, the first time in school history the Flames have received votes in the AP poll. It’s also the first time Liberty has ever received votes in both polls during the same week.
