The regular season for the ASUN ends on Saturday afternoon as Liberty and the rest of the conference teams enter the ASUN Tournament next week. The Flames have a first round bye into the quarterfinals on Thursday where they will play at home. After that, it’s still a bit murky.

Liberty faces Kennesaw State on Saturday at Liberty Arena in the regular season finale. With a win, the Flames will secure the No. 1 seed in the East Division and home court through at least the ASUN semifinals. If Liberty loses on Saturday and Jacksonville wins, the Dolphins will be the No. 1 seed in the East and the Flames will be No. 2 and could end up playing on the road in the semis. In their first season in the ASUN, Jacksonville State has clinched home court throughout the conference tournament.

Currently, Liberty is slated to play the winner of Lipscomb-North Florida in the quarterfinals. That could change depending on how Saturday’s action goes. Other teams that could be in the Liberty draw include Stetson and Eastern Kentucky.

On Wednesday, the Flames fell to FGCU, dropping its third game out of its last five outings. With the loss, Liberty is 11-4 in conference play, marking the most losses in a single season in the ASUN since the Flames joined the league prior to the 2018-19 season.

Liberty is currently 20-10 overall on the season, having secured the program’s sixth consecutive 20-win campaign. Ritchie McKay’s Flames are coming off a 23-6 season last year and 11-2 mark in conference play that saw Liberty earn a 13-seed in the NCAA Tournament before losing to No. 4 seed Oklahoma State in the first round.
