The Liberty Flames improved to 14-5 overall and 6-2 in the ASUN following this past weekend’s sweep at Jacksonville. The weekend’s events put Liberty back atop the conference standings in a three-way tie for first place alongside Bellarmine and North Alabama. Liberty will return to Liberty Arena after nearly a month away to host Lancaster Bible College on Friday after the weekend series against North Florida was postponed due to COVID issues with the Ospreys.

With Liberty back in first place and leading the ASUN in NET Rankings, the Flames are again being projected to make the NCAA Tournament by most Bracketologists.

The NCAA recently announced it will hold the entire 2021 men’s basketball tournament in the state of Indiana, with the majority of the tournament’s 67 games taking place in Indianapolis. Selection Sunday is still currently scheduled for March 14 and plans remain to hold the Final Four on April 3 and 5. March Madness will be hosted by Ball State, Butler, the Horizon League, Indiana, IUPUI, and Purdue, which are lending their facilities and staffs to assist with tournament operations. The Indiana Convention Center will be used as a practice facility with multiple courts set up inside the venue.

ESPN’s Joe Lunardi continues to have the Flames on the 13-seed line, this week facing Texas Tech with the winner to face the winner of 5-seed Creighton and 12-seed St. Bonaventure.

The NCAA’s Andy Katz has Liberty back in his bracket as a 13-seed and facing Florida State with the winner moving on to play the winner of Creighton or First Four winner of Colorado State and Loyola.

CBS Sports has the Flames as a 13-seed for a second straight week but facing West Virginia this week. The winner would then face either Florida or UAB.
