Liberty’s 2026-27 roster is officially set. The program has unveiled its complete 15-man roster for Ritchie McKay’s 14th season in Lynchburg, one that features nine new faces.
The Flames return six players from their 2025-26 squad, while this year’s roster features five additions from the transfer portal, three freshmen and one JUCO addition.
Zander Carter, Drew Grimes, Torr Sorensen, Ryan Jones, Jr., TJ Drain, and Brady Kester make up the Flames’ six returners from last season.
Liberty’s three-man freshman class, which ranked 67th nationally and second in Conference USA according to On3, consists of Eli Herbert, Eli Sancomb, and Reece Davidson. Sancomb arrives in Lynchburg as the highest rated prospect in program history, ranked as a Top 150 national prospect by both On3 and 247Sports and a 4-star rated prospect, according to 247Sports.
Brothers Cooper and Cobi Campbell (Troy), Dillon Claussen (Washburn), Osmar Garcia-Araujo (Anderson), and Matthew Shelton (Charleston) make up Liberty’s five transfer portal additions while Sean Register, Jr., joins the Flames as a JUCO transfer.
