Liberty has added former Coastal Carolina wide receiver Tyson Mobley

Mobley was expected to play a significant role in 2023 for the Chanticleers, but, under the new coaching staff, played in just four games with six catches. The 6’0″, 180 pound Mobley has two seasons of eligibility remaining. Now, he gets to return to a coaching staff and offensive system that he is very familiar with.

In 2022, Mobley played in all 13 games with 11 starts. He was third on the team with 40 catches for 490 yards and five touchdowns while also serving as Coastal’s punt returner. In 2021, Mobley played in all 13 games with two starts while finishing with 6 catches for 82 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also rushed once for 32 yards and a touchdown. As a true freshman in 2020, Mobley played in five games, finishing with two receptions for 9 yards and two rushes for 25 yards.

Coming out of high school, Mobley was rated as a two-star recruit by Rivals and ranked No. 29 in the Orlando Sentinel’s Central Florida Super60 class of 2020 rankings. He played wide receiver and cornerback at Master’s Academy in Oviedo, Florida. He helped lead his team to the 2019 SSAC Class 2A state championship title in his senior season. His dad, John Mobley, played eight seasons in the NFL for the Denver Broncos.
