Liberty’s 2025 baseball season has come to an end, and the 2025 MLB Draft is scheduled for mid-July where the Flames could add additional names to major league organizations at that time and they will join the growing list of former Flames currently with MLB organizations. Here’s an update on the former Flames who are currently with MLB clubs:

Fraser Ellard – Chicago White Sox

After a standout season with Liberty, Ellard was taken in the 8th round of the 2021 draft by the Chicago White Sox. He got the call up to the Majors late last season and has continued pitching with the White Sox this year while battling through some injuries. In 7 appearances this season, Ellard has an 0-2 record with a 6.75 ERA while striking out 10 and walking 6 in 6.2 innings pitched. He spent most of April on the injured list and was recently placed back on the injured list earlier in May.

Mason Fluharty – Toronto Blue Jays

Fluharty was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2022 in the 5th round. He was promoted to AAA and the Buffalo Bisons to begin the 2024 season. He has spent this spring in the Big Leagues with the Blue Jays where he has 22 appearances. Fluharty has a 3-1 record and 3.86 ERA. He has struck out 20 and walked 8 in 21 innings pitched.

Will Wagner – AAA

Wagner was taken in the 18th round of the 2021 draft by the Houston Astros. He got the call up to the Big Leagues late last season and excelled in his time with the Blue Jays before getting injured. He began this season again in the Majors where he played in 20 games with a .186 batting average and 2 RBI. He was optioned to AAA Buffalo Bisons in late April and was placed on the injured list in mid-May.

Dylan Cumming – AA

Cumming went undrafted and signed with the Giants as a free agent following the 2022 college season. Pitching with the Richmond Flying Squirrels in AA ball, Cumming is 1-2 this season with a 5.06 ERA in 12 appearances, all out of the bullpen. He has 16 strikeouts and 9 walks in 16 innings pitched.

Max Alba – A+

Alba signed as an undrafted free agent with the Detroit Tigers. He’s currently with their A+ club the Michigan Whitecaps. This season he has made 9 appearances with 5 starts. Alba has posted a 1-2 record with a 4.99 ERA over 30.2 innings.

Joe Adametz – A+

After being drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 14th round of the 2022 MLB Draft, Adametz is currently in high A-ball with the Tigers’ Michigan Whitecaps. He began 2025 in AAA with the Toledo Mud Hens where he made one start, pitching 2.1 innings and sporting a 3.86 ERA. With the Whitecaps, Adametz has 9 starts. He has an 0-1 record with a 5.71. Adametz has struck out 12 and walked 8 in 17.1 innings pitched.

Mikey Tepper – A+

After being drafted by the Washington Nationals in the 15th round of the 2023 MLB Draft, Tepper is with their high A club, the Wilmington Blue Rocks. So far this season, he has made 2 starts with a 10.57 ERA while striking out 7 and walking 4 in 7.2 innings pitched. He was placed on the injured list in late April.

Trey Gibson – A+

Gibson is in the Baltimore Orioles’ organization, pitching for their high A team, the Aberdeen IronBirds. In 8 appearances and 7 starts, Gibson is 1-2 with a 5.51 ERA.  He has struck out 54 and walked 14 in 32.2 innings pitched.

Cole Hertzler – A

Hertzler was drafted by the Houston Astros in the fifth round of the 2024 MLB Draft. He’s currently pitching for the A team in Fayetteville where he has started three games and has a 0.66 ERA in 13.2 innings pitched while walking six and striking out 19. He was recently placed on the injured list.

Noah Skirrow

Skirrow began the 2022 season in the Philadelphia Phillies organization with their Double-A affiliate the Reading Fightin Phils. He made it all the way to AAA before being released by the Phillies earlier this spring. He’s currently playing for the Lancaster Stormers, a member of the North Division of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, a partner league fo the MLB. In 6 starts this season, Skirrow is 3-1 with a 5.40 ERA while striking out 26 and walking 9 in 30 innings pitched.
