Former Liberty wide receiver Demario Douglas had a big day on Sunday in the New England Patriots win over the Buffalo Bills, 29-25. The rookie receiver had the best day of his young NFL career as he finished the game with 99 all-purpose yards.

Douglas, a 6th round NFL Draft pick by the Patriots in the 2023 NFL Draft, entered this week’s game with 10 catches on his 17 targets for 143 yards in five games. 67 of his 81 snaps prior to this week’s game came out of the slot. He returned to the field this week after a one game absence due to a concussion.

The 5’8″, 192 pound Douglas finished Sunday’s win over the Bills with 4 catches on 6 targets for 54 yards. He also had a reception down to the one-yard line on the game winning touchdown drive taken off the stat sheet as the Patriots accepted the pass interference penalty. On the next play, Mac Jones targeted Douglas in the end zone on first and goal, but the pass was out of the back of the end zone.

Douglas also had one rushing attempt that went for 20 yards against the Bills. Also serving as the Patriots punt returner, Douglas recorded one punt return for 25 yards.

Douglas and the Patriots return to action next Sunday, October 29 at the Miami Dolphins. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
