The UAB Blazers are 1-0 In Conference USA and 3-1 overall, after a 28-21 victory over AAC opponent Tulane last Saturday. Their one loss was at #2 ranked Georgia, 56-7.  Head coach Bill Clark has led UAB to unparalleled success over the past several seasons, including winning conference championships two out of the past three seasons.

Since taking a two year hiatus from football in 2015-2016, the Blazers have dominated Conference USA with an astonishing 34 conference wins over the past several years.  That momentum seems to be carrying over again this season as UAB is set to open a brand new $200 million dollar stadium (Protective Stadium) this Saturday versus Liberty.

The Blazers have their sights on a third conference championship this year with the return of 17 starters from last season and a defense that finished in the top ten last year. They seem to be well on their way, as Liberty coach Hugh Freeze stated about UAB, “They are the best we have played thus far in the season.”

Key Players:

TE – Gerrit Prince is one of the best pass catching tight ends in the country with 269 yards receiving.
