Liberty has added a pair of commitments from brothers, Cobi and Cooper Campbell, both transferring to the Flames from Troy, they each announced Saturday evening.
Cobi, a 6’2″ guard, averaged 9 points per game on 40% shooting from deep this season. Cooper, a 6’1″ point guard, averaged 12. 5 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game this season. Both started over 30 games for Troy who went to the tournament. The Trojans were 22-12 overall and 12-6 in the Sun Belt, winning the conference tournament before advancing to the Big Dance. Playing as a 13-seed, Troy fell to Nebraska in the first round, 76-47.

The Campbell brothers are originally from Mount Vernon, Washington and attended Elite Prep in Seattle from 2020-22 and Phoenix Prep in Phoenix, Arizona from 2022-24. Their father, Scott, was an assistant coach for Troy, as well. Scott played his college ball at Seattle Pacific, the same place Coach McKay played. Scott also played for a year under McKay in 1990-91 when McKay was an assistant at Seattle Pacific.

Cooper played two years at Troy, appearing in all 34 and starting three as a freshman in 2024-25. He averaged 16.6 minutes and 5.2 points per game on 40.8% shooting from the field and 35.6% from three. This past season, he started 33 of 34 games, averaging 33.9 minutes, 12.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game while shooting 43.2% from the field and 39.1% from three. He also was 83.1% from the free throw line. He had four 20-point scoring performances this past season including 32 in a triple overtime loss at USC on Nov. 20. He has two years of eligibility remaining.
Cobi began his collegiate career at North Idaho College where he started 45 games and played in 46 over two years. In 2023-24, averaged 11.3 points on 43.5% shooting, including 36.5% from three. He redshirted in 2024-25, his first year at Troy. Cobi started 31 of 33 games this past season for the Trojans, averaging 27.8 minutes, 9.0 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game. He shot 41.1% from the field, 40.0% from three and 81.3% from the free throw line. He made 70 triples on the season. He has one year of eligibility remaining.
The Flames have now added four players through the transfer portal with the Campbell brothers joining Dillon Claussen and Sean Register, Jr. who committed to Liberty earlier this month. The Flames currently have two roster spots available for next year’s team.
