Liberty has picked up a commitment from Boston College transfer cornerback Ashton McShane. He has three years of eligibility remaining.
McShane is a 5’11”, 195 pound defensive back originally from Boston College. He missed most of the 2025 season with an injury, playing in four games, but was a starter as a true freshman in 2024 and posted 20 tackles and 4 passes defended. He played in 11 games in 2024 and started 6. McShane attended McKinney High School in Dallas, Texas. He was first team all-district as a senior.
McShane is the 13th commitment for the Flames through the transfer portal since the end of the 2025 season. He is the third defensive back, joining Tyrell Gainey (Albany State) and Elijah McKenzie (Bowie State).
