After a week of baseball, the Flames find themselves at 1-3 with losses to North Florida, South Florida, and ODU, and a win over Richmond. Jared Lyons (1.59 ERA) was the lone winning pitcher. The Flames seem to have a lot of solid pieces, but after a slow start it is to be seen whether or not they can put it all together in 2014.

The two infield transfers, Keranen .417 and Seiz .500 lead the team in batting average (at least 10 ABs) and have been key additions to the lineup.

Player of the Week: Our first player of the week is incoming Louisville transfer, Ryan Seiz.

It is easy to see why Seiz is playing right away for the Flames. After just a week, he is 7 of 14 for a .500 average and a .714 slugging percentage. He also hit a home run and leads the team with four RBIs through just four games.

Upcoming: This week the Flames are participating in the UNC Wilmington Tournament, which will be two games against UNC Wilmington and two games against Ohio on February 22 and 23. They will then head to Cary, NC to face Missouri on the 25th.
