Here’s how Liberty football’s 2021 opponents fared in week 4:

Campbell (1-2): Bye Week

Troy (3-2): Lost at Louisiana-Monroe (2-1) 29-16

In just a few weeks, Liberty will pour over film from this game in preparation for ULM. Troy controlled time of possession and ran 12 more plays than the Warhawks, but a 5/15 performance on third down doomed the Trojans. ULM has surrendered just 33 total points over three games this year.

Old Dominion: (1-3): Lost to Buffalo 35-34

The Monarchs headed into halftime down 35-7. Despite shutting out the Bulls in the second half and making a furious comeback attempt, ODU fell just short.

Alabama-Birmingham: (3-1): Beat Tulane 28-21

UAB quarterback Dylan Hopkins threw 3 touchdowns to go with running back DeWayne McBride’s 111-yard performance as the Blazers defeated the 1-3 Green Wave.

Middle Tennessee (1-3): Lost at Charlotte 42-39

Middle Tennessee’s offense came alive after a quiet three weeks, but quarterback Chase Cunningham’s 379-yard, 5-touchdown performance wasn’t enough as MTSU lost by a field goal to 3-1 Charlotte.

North Texas (1-3): Lost at Louisiana Tech 24-17

Aside from a 44-point performance against Northwestern State in week 1, North Texas has struggled to score points. The Mean Green used two quarterbacks in this game but only managed to throw for 92 yards as a team.

Massachusetts (0-4): Lost at #17 Coastal Carolina 53-3

Massachusetts is one of the worst G5 teams in the country and Coastal is one of the best. In addition to this game, Coastal Carolina has used victories over the Citadel, Kansas, and Buffalo to slowly climb the AP poll after starting the year at #22.

#13 Mississippi (3-0): Bye Week

Louisiana (3-1): Beat Georgia Southern 28-20

Dual-threat ULL quarterback Levi Lewis had an efficient day – completing 17/28 passes for 249 yards and three touchdowns as the Ragin’ Cajuns improved to 3-1.

Army (4-0): Beat Miami-Ohio 23-10

Army quarterback Christian Anderson ran all over the Red Hawks to the tune of 236 yards and two touchdowns. Army will look to stay undefeated against Ball State next week.
